  The ponds with extensive reed overgrowth in shallow places were located on both sides of the road. I stopped to look around. Shimmering waves of hot evaporation air flow rose and flowed like a fluttering curtain of haze over the surface of the water. The reed mass rustled slightly under a gust of wind and quieted down.
